In 2009 I co-founded (with Zachary Carlsen) the website SPRUDGE, today the most popular coffee publication in the world. SPRUDGE is as an independently owned and operated publishing company, based in Portland, Oregon.

In 2018 I co-authored (with Zachary Carlsen) my first book, The New Rules of Coffee, published by Ten Speed Press.

In 2022 I joined the staff at TASTE as a national columnist.

In 2023 I co-authored (with Zachary Carlsen) my second book, But First, Coffee, published by Union Square and Co.
